Early Life and Education


Sheikh Hasina Wajid was born on September 28, 1947, in Tungipara, East Pakistan (now Bangladesh). She is the eldest of five children to Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the founding father of Bangladesh, and Begum Fazilatunnesa Mujib.


Hasina studied at the University of Dhaka, graduating with a degree in psychology in 1973. She later earned a master's degree in education from the same university.


Political Career
